Filmmaker, retired military officer and former homeschool dad Colonel Douglas W. Dunklin has called the Atlanta area home since the age of ten.  Fulfilling his boyhood dream of being a soldier, in 1984 he was commissioned into the Army after graduating from North Georgia College in Dahlonega.

Late in his military career, and while still on active duty, Doug decided to jump into the world of film by writing, directing and producing The Peril to the Shire, a Lord of the Rings fan-film.  Undertaken as a fun-filled learning experience with over 50 middle and high-school aged students, this project made such an impact on the students that they pleaded with him to make another film.
